ICE- for my Birthday

My birthday was on Dec 22, so to celebrate it I wanted Cole to take me to see ICE and to see all the lights at Opryland. ICE was wonderful, I had so much fun, even though I thought I would freeze; however, I was somewhat let down with Opryland this year. The lights were just not what I had remembered them once being. There wasn't as many up as there normally are, but what was decorated was still gorgeous!

It has been forever since I last posted and for this I am sorry. The first of December was hectic with finals and the semester drawing to an end, and then I had to catch up on some much needed Christmas shopping, then Christmas was here! I've not slowed down long enough to post! For that, I am sorry! I hope to be a better blogger in the coming year; however, with the Spring semester being my final semester in RN school, I'm not sure how much time I'll have to be blogging! Please remember me in your prayers as I'm sure the final semester will be rough. It really helps knowing that I have so many people standing behind me supporting me and pushing me to pursue my dreams. I found a quote that really rings true; "Nine Tenths of Education is Encouragement" (-Anatole France).

Anyway- I hope everyone has a wonderful AND safe New Year. Please continue to pray for those who are sick and for those brave men and women who are serving our country. Pray that God place his hand upon them and keep them in his care. God Bless.

Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them to become what they are capable of being. -(Goethe)

For the Soldiers

When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get.

Holiday Mail for Heroes
From the front lines to the home front, the American Red Cross provides service members, their families and veterans with the care and assistance they need.

The Red Cross is partnering with Pitney Bowes this holiday season for the Holiday Mail for Heroes campaign. For the second year in a row, we’re collecting holiday cards to distribute to American service members, veterans and their families in the United States and around the world. Pitney Bowes is generously donating technology, resources and postage to make this holiday card program possible.

Our goal is to collect and distribute one million holiday cards to spread holiday cheer and facilitate thanks to these brave individuals and families.

Please send cards to this address, following the guidelines listed below:

Holiday Mail for Heroes
PO Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

Card Guidelines
Please follow these guidelines when mailing a card to ensure that your card will quickly reach service members, veterans and their families. Every card received will first be screened for hazardous materials by Pitney Bowes and then reviewed by Red Cross volunteers working in one of 16 sorting stations around the country.

All cards must be postmarked no later than Wednesday, December 10, 2008. Cards sent after this date will be returned to sender.
Participants are encouraged to limit the number of cards they submit to 25 from any one person or 50 from any one class or group. If you are mailing a larger quantity, please bundle the cards and place them in large mailing envelopes. Each card does not need its own envelope or postage.
Please ensure that all cards are signed.
Please use generic salutations such as “Dear Service Member.” Cards addressed to specific individuals can not be delivered through this program.
Please send cards as opposed to long letters which delay a quick review process.
Please do not include email or home addresses on the cards, as the program is not meant to foster pen pal relationships.
Please do not include inserts of any kind, including photos, as these items will be removed during the reviewing process.
All cards received may be used in program publicity efforts, including appearing in broadcast, print or online mediums.
Where to Send Phone Cards, Gift Cards and Care Packages:
Phone cards or gift cards will not be accepted with the holiday cards. Those wishing to send calling cards or gift cards/certificates should go to www.aafes.com, scroll down to "AAFES Community Connection" and click on "Help Our Troops Call Home" or "Gift Cards/Certificates for Our Troops" in order to send such items.
No 'Care Packages' will be accepted at this address. Those wishing to send care packages should go to www.AmericaSupportsYou.com and click under "Homefront Groups" to find out how to send care packages.

Tara tagged me!

Tara tagged me, so I will attempt to tell you 7 facts about me!

1. I hate sweet tea. Yes, I live in the south and everyone around me is always guzzling it down, but I can't stand it. I've tried it a million times.

2. I can't go to grave yards. I freak. They creep me out big time. I try to avoid them at all cost, and I don't even like driving by them at night.

3. Agree with Tara on this one... I HATE forwards. They kill my battery and are useless. If God wanted to send me a message he wouldn't do it through a forwarded text.

4. I love babies/children. I would love to have like 5 kids one day, but since the economy is crap, and I don't wanna lose my sanity I'll probably just stick with 2! I love borrowing my friends babies, I love them like they are my own!!

5. I am a senior Nursing Student at Cumberland University. Its been the hardest thing I have ever done and am so thankful I am almost finished. Although, I'd like to go back in about a year to get my masters, probably for Womens Health.

6. I really want to be a Labor and Delivery nurse. My heart is in it one hundred percent and I don't know that I'd be happy working in any other part of a hospital.

7. I hate the commercial on TV that shows the animals that have been abused and it has "Angel" playing in the background. I cry like a baby everytime I see it. It's awful and I have to turn the channel or leave the room. Anyone that would abuse an animal would abuse a person.

WOW....that was kinda hard!! LOL.

Some inspiration.

Sorry It's been a while since I last posted.. If you know anything at all about nursing school then you know it takes away every bit of 'free' time you have. I have been super stressed lately with school and clinicals, and just everything and I've been reading some inspirational quotes and things.. My favorite would have to be this one::

Jer 29:11 (NIV) "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I absolutely love this because it is exactly what God has planned for each and every one of us. God has plans for us, and although the road seems rough now and seems as if no one is there or understands, God is always there and always understands everything we go through on a daily basis. God wants us to succeed in life and to prosper, and we should thank Him daily for all the many blessings he gives us in life.
I have been so down on myself lately because all I do is study and the grades don't always reflect the amount of studying I put into it, and it just really gets me down. Thanks to Tara I feel somewhat better about things today. I'm learning to not be so hard on myself and to keep my head up when the going gets tough. Thank you Tara for always encouraging me when I get down on myself, I love ya for it!!
Well, unfortunately I need to start studying again....breaks over :( I will try to post again soon, but no promises. Until then, keep me on your prayer list, so that I may have strength to get through this semester.
God Bless & Thanks for stopping by!

I'm new at all this!

Hey! I hope everyone is having a blessed Saturday. I'm trying to figure out all this blog stuff! I never intended on having a blog because I have absolutely no time to keep it updated.. Well, it just kinda happened one night, so I decided to try to fix it up somewhat in my 'free' time. So anyway, be patient with me while I try to get all the kinks figured out and maybe someday soon I'll have it underway! I hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed weekend. Thanks for stopping by!
